Lenders Invited to Learn About Homeownership Programs

Mortgage lenders are invited to learn about the purchase assistance North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) offers first-time buyers, special needs families, and moderate-income households who needed help purchasing a new home.

“Lender training offers an introduction to FirstHome™, an NDHFA program that provides the affordable financing and purchase assistance many households require to become homeowners,” said Dave Flohr, the agency’s interim executive director/homeownership division director. “We will also discuss programs geared to single parents, households with elderly or disabled family members, honorably discharged veterans, and North Dakotans whose income exceeds our standard homeownership program limits.”

NDHFA will host a training on Sept. 18 at the DoubleTree, 825 Beaton Drive, in West Fargo. On Oct. 16, the agency will host training at the Radisson Hotel, 605 E Broadway Ave., in Bismarck. The registration deadline for the West Fargo training is Sept. 13 and the Bismarck training registration deadline is Oct. 11. Both classes are limited to 50 people. Register online at www.ndhfa.org.

Both sessions begin at 9:00 a.m., CT, and run to approximately 1:00 p.m. There are no registration fees, however pre-registration is required.

This May, mortgage lenders are invited to learn about the purchase assistance North Dakota Housing Finance Agency provided to more than 1,700 first-time buyers, special needs families, and moderate-income households who needed help purchasing a new home in 2018.

“NDHFA’s lender training offers an introduction to FirstHome™, a program that provides the affordable financing and purchase assistance many households require to become homeowners,” said Dave Flohr, NDHFA homeownership division director. “We will also discuss the agency’s homeownership programs geared to single parents, households with elderly or disabled family members, honorably discharged veterans, and North Dakotans whose income exceeds our standard program limits.”

The agency’s first lender training of the spring will be May 8 at the Country Inn & Suites in Bismarck. On May 15, NDHFA will host a second training at the DoubleTree in West Fargo. The registration deadline for the Bismarck training is May 3 and West Fargo is May 10. Both classes are limited to 50 people.

Spring Lender Training Planned

In March, mortgage lenders have an opportunity to learn how North Dakota Housing Finance Agency helps first-time buyers, special needs families and other households who may have previously owned property to purchase a home.

“The training includes an introduction to FirstHome™, an agency program that assists more than a 1,000 North Dakotans annually in buying for the first time,” said NDHFA Homeownership Division Director Dave Flohr. “We will also discuss the assistance available to single parents, households with elderly or disabled family members, honorably discharged veterans, and households whose income exceeds our standard program limits.”

The first training of the spring will be held March 20 at the Expressway Suites, 4303 17th Ave S, Fargo. The registration deadline is March 16 and class size is limited to 30.

A second training will be held March 22 at the Quality Inn, 1030 E Interstate Ave, Bismarck. The registration deadline for the Bismarck course is March 19.

Training is open to new and pending participating lender staff, and current participating lender staff who are interested in a refresher. Both sessions begin at 9:00 a.m., CT, and will run to approximately 1:00 p.m. There are no registration fees, however pre-registration is required.

Lender Training Available This Fall

North Dakota Housing Finance Agency will host lender training in Bismarck and Fargo this fall.

“The training includes an introduction to NDHFA’s homeownership programs – FirstHome™, HomeAccess and North Dakota Roots, a review of the different loan types, borrower and property eligibility discussion, and how to lock a loan,” said Dave Flohr, NDHFA homeownership division director.

The course is open to new and pending participating lender staff, and current participating lender staff who are interested in a refresher.

The trainings will be held on Oct. 4 at the Comfort Inn, 1030 E Interstate Ave, Bismarck; and Nov.1 at the Expressway Suites, 4303 17th Ave S, Fargo. Both training sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m. CDT and should be completed no later than 1:00 p.m. There are no registration fees, however pre-registration is required.
